About us

Last updated 26 October 2026

CandorRated is an independent website where people read and write honest reviews of companies, and ask other customers before they buy. It is free for everyone: reading, writing reviews, asking questions and claiming a business page.

Who runs CandorRated

CandorRated is run by a small independent team. It is not owned by, funded by or connected to any company listed on the site. Our company summaries and guides follow our editorial policy: where the facts come from and how to ask for a correction.

Independence

CandorRated never lists, reviews, ranks or features companies that the people who run it own or work for. No company can pay to change its reviews, its Candor Score or its place in a ranked list.

What we believe

  • Anyone can review any business they have genuinely used — no invitation needed.
  • Money never changes a review. Businesses can reply publicly, but they cannot pay to hide, edit, remove or re-order reviews, and they cannot pay for a better Candor Score. Paid placements are always labelled Sponsored.
  • Ratings should be hard to game. The Candor Score weighs recent experiences more and starts every company near a neutral point, so a handful of reviews cannot push a company to the top. How the score works.

How we check reviews

Every review passes automatic checks for spam, copied text, self-reviews, fake-account patterns and unusual bursts. Anything suspicious waits for a person on our team. Read the full process in How reviews work.

How the site is paid for

Reading, writing reviews, asking questions and claiming a business page are free. CandorRated earns money from sponsored placements: businesses can pay to appear in a clearly labelled Sponsored spot above category and search results. Sponsorship never changes a company's Candor Score, its reviews or its position in the ranked list. How CandorRated makes money.
