Reporting content and takedown requests

Last updated 26 October 2026

If something on CandorRated breaks our guidelines or the law, tell us. This page explains how, and what happens next.

Reviews

  • Signed-in members can press Report under a review (anyone else can use the contact form) and choose a reason: fake or not a genuine experience; offensive, hateful or threatening; contains personal information; written by the business or a competitor; spam or advertising; something else.
  • Businesses that have claimed their page can open a dispute from their dashboard. The review stays visible while we check it; the reviewer may be asked for proof and has 7 days to reply.

Community posts

Use Report on any question or answer. Our moderators can hide posts, lock threads and suspend accounts.

Legal requests (defamation, copyright, court orders, privacy)

Use the legal notice form (or email legal@candorrated.com), and include: the exact page address, the words you object to, why you believe they are unlawful, your name and contact details, and any supporting documents. Copyright owners should identify the work being copied.

How fast we respond

  • Reports and disputes: reviewed within 5 working days.
  • Legal requests and grievances: acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days.
  • Content that is clearly illegal or puts someone at risk (for example threats or private personal data) is hidden as soon as we see it.

After a legal notice we confirm receipt at once, tell the author of the review and give them 5 days to respond, and a moderator decides within 15 days. We never remove a review only because a notice was sent.

What we will not do

We do not remove a review just because it is negative, and we never remove or change reviews in exchange for payment — including from sponsors.

If we remove or reject your review, we email you the reason. You can ask for a second look once: a different moderator checks it again and tells you the outcome.
