What we check
- Domain age — when the address was first registered, from the public domain registry. Shops that appeared a few weeks ago deserve extra care.
- Secure connection — whether the site has a valid HTTPS certificate. Almost every real shop has one; it proves the connection is private, not that the shop is honest.
- Website popularity — the site's rank in the Tranco list of the world's most-visited websites. A big audience is hard to fake.
- What the company publishes — a postal address, a phone number, privacy and terms pages, contact or help pages and official social profiles, read from its homepage and its contact and about pages.
- Reviews — if the company is listed on CandorRated, you go straight to its page with reviews from people who used it.
How to read the result
Green items are facts we confirmed, each with its source. Grey items are things we could not confirm automatically — not proof that something is missing. Orange items are checks that did not pass, such as a missing secure connection. There is no score and no verdict: a young, unknown shop can be perfectly honest, and an old one can still treat customers badly. Use the facts together with reviews.
Warning signs worth a second look
- Prices far below every other shop, especially on brands, electronics or tickets.
- A domain registered in the last few months, with no address or phone number anywhere.
- Payment only by bank transfer, gift cards or crypto — no card or buyer protection.
- Pressure to buy now: countdown timers on every product, "only 2 left" everywhere.
- Reviews only on the shop's own website, all five stars, all posted in the same week.
- A web address that imitates a well-known brand with an extra word or letter.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a scam checker?
No tool can prove a website is safe or a scam. CandorRated shows the facts we can confirm from public sources — how long the domain has existed, whether the connection is secure, how popular the site is and what the company publishes about itself — plus reviews from people who used it. You make the call.
Is it free?
Yes. Checking a website is free and you don’t need an account. To keep the checker fast for everyone, each network address can run a limited number of new checks per hour.
Why does a well-known shop show grey items?
Grey means we could not confirm something automatically — for example the site blocks automated visits, or its address is on a page we don’t read. It is not a warning. We only read the homepage and its contact and about pages.
What does a young domain mean?
Many scam shops are only weeks or months old, so a domain registered recently is worth a closer look. But every real business was new once: combine it with the other signs below and with reviews.
The website I checked is mine. Can I add it?
Yes. Add it to CandorRated, then claim the page for free to keep your details correct and reply to reviews.
