Terms of use

These terms apply to everyone who uses CandorRated (candorrated.com and community.candorrated.com). In these terms "we" and "us" mean CandorRated. By using the site, creating an account or posting content you agree to them. Questions: hello@candorrated.com.

1. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older and give a real email address.
  • One person, one account. Keep your password safe; you are responsible for what is posted from your account.

2. What you post

  • You must follow the review guidelines (and, for businesses, the guidelines for businesses).
  • You confirm that your reviews describe your own genuine experience and that you have the right to post what you upload.
  • You keep ownership of what you write. You give CandorRated a worldwide, free, non-exclusive, permanent licence to publish, display, translate, format and share it on CandorRated and in material that promotes CandorRated (for example showing a review on a business's page or in a search result). This licence continues for reviews that stay on the site after you delete your account.
  • You are responsible for what you post. Reviews must be honest opinions based on facts you can support.

3. What we may do

  • Check, hold, reject or remove content that breaks these terms, our guidelines or the law, and suspend or close accounts that do so.
  • Change, add or remove features of the site.

4. Businesses

A business may claim its page for free after proving it controls the company's website or email domain. Claiming a page does not give control over reviews. Businesses may buy sponsored placements, which are always labelled Sponsored; paying us for any product never changes reviews, ratings or the ranked order of results, and sponsors must follow the same rules as everyone else.

5. Using the site

Do not copy the site's content in bulk, scrape it, interfere with it, or use it to send spam. Reviews and posts are the opinions of their authors, not of CandorRated. We do not check every statement in every review and do not guarantee that the information on the site is complete or correct.

6. Liability

CandorRated is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses caused by relying on content posted by users, or by the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law as a consumer.

7. Complaints, takedown requests and online safety

You can report any review, business reply or community post with the Report button, send a legal complaint with the legal notice form, or write to us. How we handle reports, and how fast: Reporting content and takedown requests.

Illegal content is removed as soon as we see it. If we remove or reject your content we tell you why, and you can ask a different moderator for a second look. Under the UK Online Safety Act we keep written assessments of the risk of illegal content on the community and of whether children are likely to use it, and we update them at least once a year. The service is for adults: you must be 18 or older to create an account.

8. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of New Delhi have jurisdiction, without removing any right you have to bring a claim where you live.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is important we will email account holders before it applies.
