How we make money

CandorRated is free to use: reading reviews, writing reviews, asking questions and claiming a business page cost nothing. This page explains how the site pays for itself, and what money can never buy here.

Sponsored placements

Businesses can pay to appear in a Sponsored spot at the top of category, location and search pages. Sponsored spots:

• are always labelled Sponsored, so you can tell them apart from the ranked list;
• sit above the results and never change the order of the ranked list, which is based on the Candor Score and the sort you choose;
• never change a company's Candor Score, its reviews or its trust check;
• don't mean that we recommend the company. Read its reviews and check its details as you would for any other company.

What money can never buy

• Removing, hiding, editing or re-ordering reviews.
• A higher Candor Score, a better position in the ranked list, or a label that suggests we checked or approved a company.
• Different treatment in disputes: sponsors follow exactly the same guidelines for businesses.

Our independence

Company pages are built from public facts and from reviews written by customers. Our team does not write reviews. If a company breaks our rules, its sponsored placement ends.
