About Have I Been Pwned

Have I Been Pwned lets anyone search an email address or phone number to see whether it has appeared in publicly known data breaches. It also offers breach notifications by email, domain monitoring for organizations, and a password-checking service used by other apps and websites. The service launched on December 4, 2013, and was created by Australian security researcher Troy Hunt. It is listed under Australia and has a Wikipedia article. If a search shows your email in a breach, change the password for that service and anywhere else you used the same password.
