About Southwest Airlines

Southwest Airlines is an American airline that flies domestic routes across the United States and to a number of international destinations. On southwest.com, customers book flights and can also reserve rental cars and hotels. The airline was founded in March 1967 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. It is publicly traded under the ticker LUV, and the southwest.com domain was first registered in 1997. Southwest has a Wikipedia article, and it reported 59,793 employees in 2019. Airline policies change over time, so check the current fare rules before you book rather than relying on what you remember. Look at what each fare type includes, such as checked bags, seat selection and changes, and whether a cancellation gives you a refund or a travel credit with an expiry date. If a flight is delayed or cancelled, your rights depend on the airline's contract of carriage and local regulations, so keep records of times, receipts and messages. Bookings made through third-party travel sites are usually changed or refunded through that site.
