About Workday

Workday provides cloud-based business software for human resources, payroll, finance, spend management and planning. Its customers are mostly medium and large organizations, and many employees use it through their employer to view pay slips, request time off or manage benefits. The company was founded in March 2005 and is headquartered in Pleasanton, California. It is listed on Nasdaq under the ticker WDAY and reported about 20,000 employees in 2025. The workday.com domain was registered in 2001. The website publishes help, about, terms and privacy pages, and Workday has profiles on LinkedIn, X, Instagram and YouTube. If you use Workday as an employee or job applicant, your employer controls what you see and how processes work, so questions about pay, leave or application status should go to that organization's HR team. Each employer runs its own Workday site, so check the address before signing in and be cautious with emails asking you to log in through a link. For organizations evaluating enterprise software, ask about implementation partners, timelines, total cost and contract length, and speak to existing customers.
